Approach and anchoring
Enter Sandusky Bay from Lake Erie through the outer marked channel and Inner Straight Channel. The clubhouse stands on the south bank at the foot of downtown, just east of Safe Harbor Sandusky. Member or reciprocal access only for berthing.
Practical
180 berths in the club marina, opened in 1988. Restaurant, offices and gift shop in the clubhouse. Fleet of around 350 sail and power boats. Member of the Inter-Lake Yachting Association since 1896.
History
The club was founded in 1894 and has been a member of the Inter-Lake Yachting Association since 1896. A tornado on 28 June 1924 destroyed the original clubhouse and most of the early records. The current site on the former Kelly Island Lime and Transport dock was secured in 1937. The 180-berth marina was dedicated in 1988.
