Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Straight Channel running into downtown Sandusky from the bay entrance north of Cedar Point. A 600 ft breakwater shelters the basin.
Practical
32 transient berths and 22 seasonal berths. 30 and 50 amp shore power, water, wifi, pump-out, heads and showers. ADA accessible. 8 seasonal jet ski docks with power and water. Certified Clean Ohio Marina.
Ashore
Cafe and amphitheatre on site, paved walking paths along the boat basin and breakwater. Downtown shops and restaurants within three blocks. Jackson Street Pier with the Lake Erie islands ferry to the east.
History
The site belonged to Hinde and Dauch Paper Company, founded in Sandusky in 1888 and later operated by Westvaco and Chesapeake Display and Packaging until the plant closed in 1997. The city completed the marina on the cleared waterfront in 2011.
