Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east with no offshore dangers. Sand bottom, good holding. Shelter from NW, W and SW; fully exposed to the east and to Libeccio swell wrapping from the south. Port Taverna 11.6 nautical miles north and Solenzara 18.6 nautical miles south are the nearest all-weather refuges.
Practical
No services on the beach. Drop in 4 to 6 metres off the sand. Move to Solenzara or Taverna if an easterly is forecast.
Ashore
Long straight sand beach backed by the coastal plain of the Plaine Orientale. Roman site of Aleria 12 km north, with the Jerome Carcopino archaeological museum housed in the Fort de Matra.
