Approach and anchoring
From Lake Ontario, enter the Salmon River between the Port Ontario breakwaters. The marina sits on the south bank near the historic Salmon River Lighthouse. Lake Ontario builds a short steep sea by NW wind; the river mouth itself is sheltered.
Practical
25 berths on new pontoons, ethanol-free petrol and diesel at the fuel berth, rental fishing boats, kayaks and canoes, 4 guest cottages on site. Address 5 Lake Road Extension. Eight licensed charter captains operate from the docks.
Ashore
Salmon River Lighthouse, built 1838, stands on the bluff above the marina. Selkirk Shores State Park 3 km west for sand beach, walking trails and camping. Salmon River Falls 30 km upstream, drop of 33 metres, public hiking access.
