Approach and anchoring
Sandy Pond connects to Lake Ontario through a narrow inlet at the north end of the dune barrier. Access for shallow-draught craft only.
Practical
200-plus berths, fuel berth, marine store, groceries, propane, pontoon boat hire, Wi-Fi and toilets. Cottages and RV sites on the property.
Ashore
The 27 km Sandy Pond barrier beach is accessible by boat across the pond, with open sand on the Lake Ontario side. Swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding from the marina.
History
Captain Lindsey Greene set up the marina in 1905. The site has stayed under the same family line, passed mother to daughter for over a century.
