Family-run boatyard and marina on Taylor Creek at Fort Pierce, in St Lucie County, two miles inside the Fort Pierce Inlet.

Guide

Approach and anchoring

On Taylor Creek off the Indian River Lagoon, reached from the Intracoastal Waterway near the creek mouth. The creek is shallow in places and prone to silting, so favour a rising tide on the approach.

Practical

Berth rental alongside a working yard. A 75-tonne travel lift handles haul-out, with a 15,000 lb forklift for smaller craft. Hull cleaning, engine work and full detailing on site, and hurricane-season haul-out storage. The yard has run since 1979.

Ashore

Downtown Fort Pierce, with its riverfront and Saturday farmers market, lies a short drive south. Several boatyards and chandleries cluster along Taylor Creek.
