Approach and anchoring
Reached by the Homosassa River from the Gulf of Mexico, following red-right-returning markers inland. Hell's Gate near marker 58 is a tight S-shaped channel with shallow limestone, run at idle speed. Manatee speed zones apply along the river.
Practical
10 wet berths for vessels up to 35ft, plus hi-dry storage. Diesel and petrol at the fuel berth. Boat ramp with ample parking, on-site fibreglass repair, outboard motor and trailer sales, and free WiFi. Open year-round, 8am to 5pm, telephone 352 628-5545.
Ashore
Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park lies a short trip upriver. The river holds trout, redfish and tarpon.
