Approach and anchoring
Reached by the Homosassa River from the Gulf of Mexico, following red-right-returning markers inland. Hell's Gate near marker 58 is a narrow S-shaped channel with blind corners and shallow limestone, best run at idle speed. Manatee speed zones apply throughout the river.
Practical
32 wet berths and dry storage for around 250 boats up to 32ft, in indoor and outdoor hi-dry racks. Each slip has water and shore power. Diesel and petrol at the fuel berth. Boat rentals available. Open seven days a week, 7am to 5pm.
Ashore
Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, with its manatees and spring run, is a short trip upriver. The river holds trout, redfish and tarpon.
