Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east across the Baie de Quinéville, shallow sandy bay with rocky patches offshore. The harbour dries completely at low water, enter at HW plus or minus 2h. Exposed to easterly winds, uncomfortable with any E or NE blow.
Practical
Small marina with drying berths managed by the commune, mostly local boats. Basic services, water on the quay. Village shops in Quinéville 500 m from the harbour.
Ashore
Utah Beach, western landing sector of the 6 June 1944 Allied invasion, 8 km south, with the Utah Beach Landing Museum at Sainte-Marie-du-Mont. Musée de la Liberté Retrouvée in Quinéville village, 600 m from the harbour. Sand beach directly alongside the harbour.
History
Quinéville sits on the line of the Utah Beach sector of the Normandy landings. The village was liberated by US troops on 14 June 1944.
