Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the ICW shortly after Hell Gate. The creek winds inland and gives shelter from every direction, with good holding in mud. Tidal range here is large, so allow for the rise and fall when setting the anchor.
Practical
Waterways Marina is 4 miles north-west and Kilkenny Marina 4.5 miles south-west, both for fuel and provisions. Kilkenny Marina is a long-standing ICW stop with floating docks.
History
The Kilkenny plantation, ashore nearby, dates to 1733 and is on the National Register of Historic Places; it was restored by Henry Ford in 1930.
