Approach and anchoring

The ICW follows the Pungo River past Belhaven on its way north to the Alligator-Pungo canal. A refurbished breakwater across the mouth of Pantego Creek shields the Belhaven waterfront and its marinas from the chop that rolls in off the open river.

Practical

Fresh water can be taken on nearby. Belhaven Marina is 0.1 nautical miles north and Blackbeards Cove Marina is 1.8 nautical miles south-west. Belhaven has five full-service marinas, and free docking is available at Cooperage Landing on Pantego Creek.

Ashore

The town centre of Belhaven sits behind the breakwater with shops and restaurants within walking distance of the waterfront. The Belhaven Memorial Museum stands above the old town hall.
