Approach and anchoring
Reached from the sea via the Saint-Louis lock, which links the Golfe de Fos to the canal basin. Lock operation on request, check hours with VHF. From inland, accessible by the Rhône and the Petit-Rhône. Maximum draught around 6 m in the basin. Mistral funnels down the Rhône corridor and can make the approach lively.
Practical
Around 1500 berths, one of the largest marinas of the Rhône delta. Diesel, water, electricity on pontoons, sanitary blocks, travel-lift and full boatyard services for wintering and refit. Direct access to inland waterway network for boats transiting between the Mediterranean and the canals of France.
Ashore
Camargue regional natural park starts just west of the canal, with flamingo lagoons, horses and bulls on the Plaine de la Crau. Salin-de-Giraud saltworks lie 15 km west. Beach of Napoléon, on the Mediterranean shore, is 5 km south of the marina.
