Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Golfe de Fos through the Saint-Louis lock, which connects the sea to the Canal Saint-Louis. The lock opens on demand during working hours. Inside the basin, max draught 4,5 m. VHF 9 for the capitainerie. Strong mistral funnels down the Rhône delta from the north.
Practical
215 berths afloat on pontoons, plus a large dry storage yard known for offshore racing refits. Travel lift up to 45 tonnes, chandlery, sailmaker and riggers on site. Water, electricity, showers and laundry at the capitainerie. Fuel berth inside the marina. Marseille Provence airport at 50 km, train station at Port-Saint-Louis at 2 km.
Ashore
Réserve naturelle des Coussouls de Crau and the Camargue regional park within 10 km, both Natura 2000 sites. Village centre of Port-Saint-Louis at 2 km with all shops. Plage Napoléon, a Camargue sand beach, at 6 km by road.
History
Port Napoléon was developed as a yard specialising in the preparation and refit of offshore racing yachts from the 1990s. It has serviced Class40 and IMOCA campaigns and is used as a winter base by many cruisers heading to the Balearics or crossing to the Atlantic via the Canal du Midi.
