Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north from the Quiberon passage, keeping clear of the rocks off Pointe de Taillefer. Anchor on sand in 4 to 8 metres, avoiding the eelgrass patches which offer poor holding. Open to winds from N to NE and to swell from the Baie de Quiberon.
Practical
Forain anchorage with no services. Le Palais 1,1 nm SE has the main harbour of Belle-Île with visitor pontoons, fuel, all shops and the ferry terminal to Quiberon. Sauzon 2 nm W is a drying harbour with restaurants on the quay.
Ashore
The GR 340 sentier côtier passes above the cove, running the full 84 km perimeter of Belle-Île. Citadelle Vauban of Le Palais, built from 1682 and classified historic monument, is 1,5 km by the coast path.
