Approach and anchoring
Access via the Canal latéral à la Garonne between Agen and Castelsarrasin. The port sits just upstream of the Cacor canal bridge that crosses the Tarn. Air draught limited by canal bridges to 3.5 metres and max draught 1.8 metres. Speed limit 8 km/h in the canal.

Pontoon berths with water and electricity. Capitainerie in the port building. Fuel available at the port pontoon. Showers and toilets on site. Supermarket, bakeries and restaurants within 400 metres in the town centre.
Ashore
Abbey Saint-Pierre de Moissac at 450 metres, with its 12th century Romanesque tympanum of the Apocalypse and the cloister of 1100, both listed by UNESCO on the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage routes. Saturday and Sunday morning market on place des Récollets at 350 metres. Chasselas de Moissac AOC vineyards on the coteaux above the town, within 3 km.
History
The abbey was founded in the 7th century and became one of the major Cluniac monasteries of southwestern France. The canal latéral à la Garonne reached Moissac in 1844 and the Cacor canal bridge over the Tarn, 356 metres long, was opened in 1847 by the engineer Jean-Baptiste de Baudre.
Story
The Romanesque tympanum of the south portal, carved around 1120, is one of the earliest large figurative sculptures in medieval European art and directly inspired Émile Mâle's studies of Romanesque iconography.
