Approach and anchoring
Reached by the Canal lateral a la Garonne, part of the Canal des Deux Mers from Bordeaux to Sete. Standard Freycinet gauge, maximum draught 1.80 metres, air draught around 3.40 metres. Manually operated or remote locks on this reach. Current negligible.
Practical
Quay along the towpath with mooring rings. Water tap available, no electricity on the pontoon. Bakery and small grocery in Finhan village at 400 m. Fuel only by jerrycan from the service station on the D928.
Ashore
Towpath open to walkers and cyclists, part of the EuroVelo 3 and Canal des Deux Mers cycle route. Montech water slope Pente d'eau, the 1973 hydraulic lift replacing five locks, at 2.5 nm SE. Castelsarrasin and its Saint-Sauveur church 4.8 nm NW.
