Inland port on the canal de Nantes à Brest at Malestroit, a medieval town in the Morbihan 40 km north-east of Vannes.

Approach and anchoring
Reached from the tidal Vilaine at Redon via the Oust and the canal. Locks 35 to 42 between Redon and Malestroit, maximum draught 1.40 m, airdraft 2.60 m at high water level. Current slight on the ponded reach.
Practical
Quayside mooring with water and electricity bollards, capitainerie seasonal. Bakery, grocery and restaurants within 200 m in the old town. Nearest alternative moorings at Saint-Martin-sur-Oust 6.2 nm south-east and Peillac 8.6 nm south-east.
Ashore
Medieval old town with half-timbered houses of the 15th and 16th centuries around Place du Bouffay, 150 m from the quay. Église Saint-Gilles with Romanesque portal and carved wooden porch from the 12th and 16th centuries. Resistance museum of Saint-Marcel 5 km away commemorates the 1944 battle.
History
Malestroit was granted a charter in 987 and became one of the nine baronies of Brittany. The Treaty of Malestroit was signed here in 1343, a truce in the War of the Breton Succession between France and England.
