Approach and anchoring
Approach via the buoyed Gironde channel. Max draught 0.8 m limits entry to shallow-draft craft and imposes entry around high water. Les Bernu lies 1.2 NM to the south and Pauillac 2.8 NM to the west for deeper-draft alternatives. Strong tidal currents in the estuary.
Practical
Small local port with limited services. Ravitaillement at Pauillac, 2.8 NM west, the main Médoc marina.
