Approach and anchoring
Access via the Gironde estuary, strong tidal currents up to 3 knots on the springs, navigate with the flood to go up-estuary. Port entrance dries partly at low water of springs. Halte nautique de Blaye 1.5 nm NW and Roque de Thau 1.6 nm south as alternative refuges.

40 berths. Fuel station reported on site. Village of Plassac a short walk from the port for basic supplies.
Ashore
Gallo-Roman villa of Plassac with mosaics, archaeological site and small museum in the village at 400 m. Citadel of Blaye by Vauban, UNESCO World Heritage as part of the Vauban fortifications, 1.5 nm upriver. Côtes-de-Blaye and Côtes-de-Bourg vineyards on the surrounding hills.
