Approach and anchoring
Approach from the N, clear of the Poulains headland and its lighthouse to the west. Sand bottom, good holding. Sheltered from W, SW, S and SE. Open to the N and NE, leave with any swell from that quarter.
Practical
No moorings, anchor only. Nearest services at Sauzon 0.8 NM SE, drying harbour with visitor buoys, water and a few shops. Port du Palais 3.9 NM SE for fuel, a larger marina and ferry links to Quiberon.
Ashore
Sentier côtier GR340 runs above the cove and reaches the Pointe des Poulains and the Fort Sarah Bernhardt 2 km to the west. Beach of Ster Vras to the south west of the anchorage, accessible by the coastal path.
History
The Pointe des Poulains nearby was the summer home of the actress Sarah Bernhardt from 1894 until her death in 1923. Her fortified villa is now a museum run by the Conservatoire du littoral.
