Approach and anchoring

Reached from the étang de Thau, the inland lagoon accessed through the Sète canal system. Shallow waters across most of the lagoon, so stick to the marked channel when approaching. Calm conditions inside the lagoon, but strong tramontane gusts from the north-west can kick up a short chop.

Practical

4 berths only, max draught 2.3 m. Very limited facilities at the pontoon itself. Fuel, chandlery and full services at Port Suttel to the north-east, about 0.6 nm away.

Balaruc-les-Bains thermal spa and town centre within 400 m, the leading thermal resort in France by visitor numbers. Thermes O'balia spa about 500 m. Walking path around the peninsula out to Pointe du Barrou, around 2 km.
