Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Étang de Thau through the Canal des Quilles at Sète. Watch for the oyster and mussel tables that cover much of the lagoon, their corners marked by yellow buoys. Mud bottom, good holding once the anchor bites. Open to winds from NE, E and SE. Depth in the lagoon rarely exceeds 5 m.
Practical
No facilities at the mooring. Port de Bouzigues is 0.6 nm north-west for water, fuel and a small chandlery. Ponton de Balladuc is 0.6 nm east.
Ashore
Bouzigues village and its waterfront are 400 m from the anchorage. The Musée de l'Étang de Thau on quai du Port documents the local oyster and mussel farming. Tasting cabins along the quay serve Bouzigues oysters straight from the tables. Sète old town lies 8 km by road.
