Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south with the Levant channel on the port hand. Drop on sand clear of posidonia seagrass, which is protected across the Port-Cros national park perimeter. Open to W, SW and S swell.
Practical
No facilities at the point. Port-Cros lies 1 NM NW for a park-managed mooring field and ranger office. L'Ayguade du Levant is 2.2 NM NE for a pontoon landing and the village of Héliopolis.
Ashore
Port-Cros national park runs marked underwater trails off the north coast. On Levant, the military zone covers most of the island, public access is limited to the Héliopolis area and the marked coastal path.
History
The Port-Cros national park was created in 1963, the first marine national park in Europe. Île du Levant has hosted the Héliopolis naturist village since 1931.
