Approach and anchoring
Protected from southerly winds only. Fully exposed to the vaudaire, the strong SE foehn wind that sweeps down the Rhône valley, and to the bise from the NE. Approach straightforward in settled weather, no outlying hazards offshore.
Practical
Mouillage forain with no infrastructure. Port de Meillerie 2.9 NM W and Port de Lugrin 5.5 NM W for berths and basic services.
Ashore
Meillerie village was the setting for Rousseau's Julie ou la Nouvelle Heloise published in 1761. Lakeside footpath runs along the shore. Chablais Geopark, recognised by UNESCO in 2012, covers the hills behind the French shore.
