Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east, clear of offshore rocks off Cap des Salins. Bottom of sand with rock patches and posidonia, so drop clear of weed to hold. Open to W, SW and S winds. Shelter in Saint-Tropez 2.7 NM west if the mistral picks up.
Practical
Forain anchorage with no facilities. No buoys, no water, no fuel. Depth typically 3 to 6 m on sand close in. Fetch Saint-Tropez by sea for supplies and berths.
Ashore
Plage de la Moutte fronts the Domaine de la Moutte, former property of Émile Ollivier. Coastal footpath, the sentier du littoral, links the beach south to Les Salins beach at 1 km and north towards Cap Camarat. No shops on the beach itself.
