Approach and anchoring
Entrance between outer and inner breakwaters, considered one of the safest harbour approaches on the open Pacific coast. Staffed 24 hours. Watch for commercial traffic and crab pots in the approach during winter.
Practical
369 berths in total, around 123 reserved for pleasure craft, the rest used by the commercial fishing fleet. Fuel berth with diesel and petrol near the entrance. Guest dock, six-lane launch ramp, pump-out, boat wash, hot showers, ice-making and wireless internet. Search and rescue station on site.
Ashore
Princeton fishing village adjoins the harbour, with seafood restaurants and a fishing pier. Mavericks big-wave surf break 1 mile west of the harbour. Pillar Point Bluff coastal trail north of the inner basin.
