Peninsula Yacht Basin

Gig Harbor, United StatesPacific Northwest
Type
Harbour

Private marina on the north shore of Gig Harbor, off Puget Sound, opened in 1947 as the harbour's first recreational basin.

Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach Gig Harbor from Colvos Passage, keeping mid-channel between the sandspit on the east and the west shore. The entrance narrows to under 100 metres with a 3-metre channel down the middle and strong tidal flow. Inside the basin holds 5 to 9 metres. Watch for paddleboard traffic at the entrance in summer.

Practical

About 100 berths, some covered. Fresh water, heads with showers, gated 24-hour parking. Long-term storage on site. No fuel berth at the marina itself; nearest diesel is at Arabella's Landing further into the harbour.
