Approach and anchoring
Approach through the pass of the Vieux-Port between the Fort Saint-Jean to the north and the Fort Saint-Nicolas to the south. Inner bearing toward Quai du Port. Beware of the shuttle ferries crossing the basin. VHF channel 9 for the Vieux-Port capitainerie.
Practical
Clubhouse at 34 Quai du Port. Members pontoon with water and electricity. No fuel berth at the club, nearest fuel at the public pontoon near the Fort Saint-Jean. Metro station Vieux-Port Hôtel de Ville 100 m. Shops, restaurants and the fish market along the Quai du Port and Quai des Belges.
Ashore
MuCEM and Fort Saint-Jean at 400 m along the north quay. Panier district behind the clubhouse, old quarter of the Greek foundation of Massalia. Cathédrale de la Major at 600 m. Notre-Dame de la Garde at 1,5 km by the south slopes.
History
The Nautic Club du Vieux-Port was founded in 1923 and celebrated its centenary in the Kohler basin in June 2023. It is one of the oldest yachting associations on the Quai du Port, with a tradition of offshore racing and pilotine training.
