Approach and anchoring
Sheltered harbour at the south end of Black River Bay, fully protected by Navy Point itself. Approach from Lake Ontario via the bay, about 10 miles north of Henderson Harbor.
Practical
150 berths, year-round operation. Accommodates vessels up to 100 feet and 13 foot draught. Shore power 30 and 50 amp, fresh water, fuel berth with petrol and diesel, pump-out, travel lift, boatyard with sales and repairs. Laundry, heads, showers, wi-fi.
Ashore
Sackets Harbor village within walking distance, with shops, eateries and museums. Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site adjoins the marina to the north.
History
The marina occupies the site of the US Navy shipyard set up here in the War of 1812. Twelve warships were built at Sackets Harbor during the war, and the village population swelled from about a hundred to several thousand.
