Full-service marina on the Black River near its mouth into Black River Bay on Lake Ontario, in the village of Dexter, New York.

Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from Black River Bay and follow the Black River up to the marina at 23173 Kitto Marina Drive. The bay is shallow in places, so keep to the marked channel. Lake Ontario approach from the west clear of Stony Point.

Practical

Petrol pump, launch ramp, dockage, ice, live bait and boat hire. A waterfront two-bedroom cottage adjacent to the marina sleeps four to six.

Ashore

Black River salmon run starts in September, with chinook and steelhead reaching the fish ladder at Dexter from Lake Ontario. Dexter Marsh Wildlife Management Area lies east of the village. Watertown is 16 km up the river.
