Anchorage on the Vilaine river, just downstream of the Arzal-Camoël dam and lock at the head of the Vilaine estuary in Morbihan.

Approach and anchoring

Enter the Vilaine estuary between the Pointe du Halguen and Pointe du Penlan. Follow the buoyed channel to the dam. Mud bottom, sheltered in all directions by the river banks. Lock opens on request according to tide and dam water level, VHF on the lock channel.

Practical

Port d'Arzal-Camoël 0.4 NM west with 900 berths, fuel, water, electricity and boatyard. Downstream pontoon 0.7 NM west for waiting the lock. Chandlery and supermarket at the port.

Ashore

Barrage d'Arzal dam crossing with footpath to Camoël on the north bank. La Roche-Bernard medieval port 8 km upriver by water. Cycle path along the Vilaine toward Redon.
