Approach and anchoring
Enter the Golfe through the Port-Navalo pass, taking the tide into account. Streams in the pass run up to 8 knots at springs. Hold to the south of the fairway toward Locmariaquer. The Men er Beleg rock is marked by a cardinal beacon. Anchor south of the rock in 3 to 5 metres at low water on mud.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Port Deun Marine, a small marina, lies 1.3 nm NW. Locmariaquer harbour and pontoons 1.8 nm east with water, some berths and visitor buoys in season. Village of Locmariaquer has shops, bakery and restaurants.
Ashore
Megalithic site of Locmariaquer at 1 km from the harbour, with the Grand Menhir Brisé, broken in four pieces and originally 20 metres high, and the Table des Marchands dolmen. Coastal footpath along the Pointe de Kerpenhir with view over the entrance of the Golfe.
History
The megaliths of Locmariaquer were erected between 4500 and 3500 BC and are among the oldest monumental stonework in Europe.
