Forested 11.5-acre island in Case Inlet, South Puget Sound, on the east side of Harstine Island, Washington. A marine state park reached only by boat.

Approach and anchoring

Anchor in the cove on the west side, sheltered from the prevailing south-west wind, with mud and sand bottom and good holding. Five state park mooring buoys are also available for overnight use. At low water a gravel tombolo links the island to Harstine Island on foot.

Practical

No fees beyond the buoys. Two vault toilets ashore, no fresh water and no rubbish collection. Nearest provisions and fuel at Jarrell Cove Marina, 2.3 miles to the north-west.

Ashore

Short walking trails cross the island through second-growth forest. The tombolo to Harstine Island is walkable for a few hours either side of low water. The eastern half of the island remains private property, so keep to the state park section.
