Small marina at the north end of Budd Inlet, around 7 nautical miles north of Olympia, with a public fuel berth and a 24 hour launch ramp.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
At the mouth of Budd Inlet, on the east shore just inside Dofflemyer Point. Open approach from north Puget Sound; the marina is the first fuel stop south of Dana Passage. Watch for tide rips off Dofflemyer Point on a spring ebb.
Practical
Fuel berth dispenses ValvTect petrol and diesel daily, 09:00 to 21:00 from June to September, 09:00 to 18:00 from October to May. Public launch ramp open 24 hours. Covered and uncovered berths, transient moorage on request. Office on 360-357-5670.
Ashore
On site: seafood market with local smoked salmon, snack shack open daily in summer, swimming beach and a small park. Kayak and paddle board hire on the marina pier. Boston Harbor village houses a handful of restaurants and a general store within 200 metres.
History
Working harbour since the 1920s, originally a steamer landing for the Mosquito Fleet that linked the small towns of south Puget Sound before road and rail.
