Approach and anchoring
Reached from Florida Bay through Tavernier Creek, which links the bay and ocean sides of the Keys. The basin is enclosed by mangroves and serves as a hurricane hole, sheltered on all sides. Depth in the slips is about 5 feet.
Practical
Around 102 wet berths for boats up to 70 feet, plus over 150 dry rack spaces for 20 to 40 foot boats. Fuel berth, boat ramp, working yard with mechanics, two bathhouses with showers and laundry. On-site restaurant, swimming pool and houseboat rentals.
Ashore
Tavernier village shops and restaurants line the Overseas Highway within 1 mile. The Florida Keys Wild Bird Center, a rescue and rehabilitation facility, is about 2 miles north along US 1.
