Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south shore of Lake Superior, off the eastern end of Madeline Island, the largest of the Apostle Islands. The harbour basin is well sheltered from heavy weather.
Practical
Berths from 25 to 80 feet with shore power and fresh water. Diesel and petrol on the fuel berth, plus a pump-out station. Full-service boatyard with a 35-ton travel lift, the area's largest chandlery, key-access heads and showers, and free Wi-Fi.
Ashore
Village of La Pointe a short walk from the marina, with shops and the ferry to Bayfield on the mainland. Big Bay State Park lies about 11 km away on the south-east shore, with sandstone cliffs and a sand beach.
History
The yacht club was formed in 1977 by a group of boat owners drawn to Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands.
