Approach and anchoring

Reached from the Intracoastal Waterway, which runs through the lagoon. Lake Worth Inlet, about four miles north, gives the nearest ocean access and is one of the better-marked inlets in Florida. The bottom is mud with good holding, and the basin is sheltered from all sectors except a long fetch up and down the lagoon.

Practical

Open anchorage with no charge. Water is available ashore at the marinas nearby. Palm Beach Yacht Club and Marina lies about 0.4 mile to the south-west and Palm Harbor Marina about 0.7 mile to the south, both offering berths and a dinghy landing.

Ashore

Downtown West Palm Beach is a short dinghy ride away, with the Clematis Street and Rosemary Square shops and restaurants close to the waterfront. The Flagler Museum on Palm Beach island is within walking distance of the eastern shore.
