Approach and anchoring
Approach through the channel between La Teignouse light and Pointe de Kerbihan. Buoyed channel up the Crac'h river with cardinal and lateral marks. Strong tidal streams in the river, up to 3 knots on spring ebb. The new 325 m pontoon Loic Caradec is on the outer side. VHF 9. Max draught 3 m in the main basin.
Practical
1250 berths on pontoons A to L. Fuel berth with diesel and petrol, open year round. Water, electricity, wifi. Showers and toilets, laundry. Travel lift 45 t and boatyard on site. Sail lofts and riggers in the harbour. Supermarket 400 m, full town services on Cours des Quais.
Ashore
Carnac alignments of standing stones at Le Menec and Kermario, 3 km NW, over 3000 Neolithic megaliths in three main rows. Plage de Men Du and Plage de Kervillen sand beaches, 1 km S on foot. Coastal path GR34 along the estuary to Locmariaquer cairn, 6 km by path.
History
La Trinite-sur-Mer became the home port of French ocean racing from the 1970s, base of skippers Eric Tabarly, Loick Peyron, Franck Cammas and Francois Gabart. The Trinite multihull regatta and the start of the Transat Jacques Vabre have departed from here.
