Approach and anchoring
Entry through a buoyed channel that dries at low water. Sand bottom, shelter on all eight sectors once inside the estuary. 300 moorings managed by the port. VHF 9. Tidal gate at the lock of Dives-Cabourg-Houlgate, 0.3 NM SW.
Practical
Water available on the pontoons. Full services at Dives-Cabourg-Houlgate marina just upstream. CN Franceville at 5.2 NM west for a smaller alternative.
Ashore
Houlgate beach and seafront villas of the Belle Époque at 1 km. Cabourg and the Grand Hôtel associated with Marcel Proust at 2 km west. Église Notre-Dame de Dives, 14th to 16th century, records the names of William the Conqueror's companions at Hastings in 1066.
