Open anchorage in Key West harbour, southernmost Florida, on a sand bottom about 1.3 miles south-west of the Historic Seaport.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Hold the marked harbour channels on the approach and keep clear of shoals and the seaplane area. Sand bottom; set the anchor well, as holding can be patchy and current runs through the harbour. Florida rules forbid anchoring within 150 feet of any marina or ramp.
Practical
No facilities at the anchorage. Tender in to the Historic Seaport at Key West Bight, 1.3 miles to the north-east, where A&B Marina has a fuel berth with diesel and Galleon Marina takes larger vessels. Duval Street shops and restaurants are a short walk inland.
