Approach and anchoring
Approach from the S by the Baie de Quiberon, leaving the Pointe de Kerpenhir to port if coming from the Gulf of Morbihan. Mud bottom gives good holding. Shelter spans from NW round through N, NE and E to SE. Open to SW winds from the bay.
Practical
Forain anchoring, no buoys or services. Anse du Pô lies 0.3 NM SE and Port de Carnac 1.5 NM SE for supplies.
Ashore
The Carnac alignments begin 1 km inland, with more than 3 000 standing stones set up between 4500 and 3300 BC. Musée de Préhistoire in Carnac town at 1.5 NM SE. Sandy beaches of Saint-Colomban and Plage du Men Dû lie within 2 km.
