Approach and anchoring

The North River runs south from the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal at Coinjock towards Albemarle Sound. Anchor clear of the marked ICW channel, which carries commercial and transient traffic. Many crews hold here to wait for a settled crossing of the open sound.

Practical

No facilities at the anchorage itself. Coinjock Marina lies 3.6 nm NW with fuel, water and a restaurant. Lamb's Marina is 13.9 nm W.
