Approach and anchoring
Approach by the canal at low speed. The stop lies on a long pound between Herry and Argenvières locks. Cross the road bridge to reach La Charité-sur-Loire on the far bank of the Loire.
Practical
Ten berths on a pontoon, water point, no fuel on site. Bakery and small shops in the village. Full supplies, restaurants and station at La Charité-sur-Loire, about 1.5 km across the bridge.
Ashore
La Charité-sur-Loire is on the UNESCO World Heritage list as a stop on the Santiago de Compostela routes in France. The priory church of Notre-Dame dates from the 11th and 12th centuries. Riverside walk along the Loire from the old stone bridge.
