Approach and anchoring
Sits mid-bay at Matts Landing on a bend of the lower river. Channel buoys on the approach are unofficial and moved to track the deepest water; take a rising tide.
Practical
Boat hire for anglers, a stocked bait and tackle shop with live bait, and waterfront cabins for rent. The marina raises and sells its own soft-shell crabs. Telephone 856 785-7001.
Ashore
The Heislerville Wildlife Management Area along Matts Landing Road offers bank fishing and crabbing, and a mini-golf course is on site.
