Guide

Approach and anchoring

On a bend just out of sight of Delaware Bay, on the spit of land known as Matts Landing. The lower river channel is marked by unofficial buoys that are shifted to follow the deepest water.

Practical

Berths and dry storage, petrol fuel berth, ship's store with fresh bait, ice and tackle, and a restaurant on site. Free parking for customers. Open daily 6am to 4pm. Telephone 856 785-9899.

Ashore

The Heislerville Wildlife Management Area adjoins Matts Landing Road, with fishing and crabbing access from the bank and a noted spot for watching shorebirds across the tidal marsh.
