Approach and anchoring
Approach from Lake Erie between the breakwaters of Geneva State Park, 8 nm west of Ashtabula. Open from 1 May to 31 October.
Practical
379 berths, seasonal and overnight, vessels up to 90 feet. Six-lane boat ramp, fuel berth with petrol and diesel, deli, bait and tackle, fish cleaning, boat and trailer storage. Jet-ski hire and walleye charters on site. Phone 440-466-7565.
Ashore
Geneva State Park beach and lodge are inside the park. The strip of restaurants and arcades at Geneva-on-the-Lake village starts 1.5 km east along Lake Road. Wineries of the Grand River Valley AVA, including Debonne and Ferrante, are within a 10 km drive south.
Story
Geneva-on-the-Lake calls itself Ohio's first summer resort, with cottages and dance halls dating back to 1869.
