Guide

Approach and anchoring

The creek branches off the South Edisto River with a mud bottom and shelter from every direction. Shoals border the creek mouth, so take care on the approach, particularly near low water. Edisto Beach Marina lies 8.6 nm south and Bohicket Marina 9.9 nm east for fuel and refuge.

Ashore

The cut banks well inside Fishing Creek hold redfish, speckled trout, sheepshead and black drum, best in the cooler months. The surrounding tidal marsh and barrier islands of the ACE Basin lie just off the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway.
