Sand anchorage off the Erba Rossa beach on the east coast of Corsica, between Solenzara and Aléria.

Approach and anchoring

Straight coastline with no offshore dangers once past the 5 metre line. Drop on clear sand in 4 to 7 metres a few hundred metres from the shore. Holding protected from NW through W to SW, fully exposed to the east where the prevailing morning breeze and any libeccio rebound build a short chop.

Practical

No services at the anchorage. Solenzara port 9 NM south is the nearest refuge with diesel, water and 450 berths. Port Taverna lies 20.6 NM north. Supermarket and restaurants of the Marina d'Erba Rossa holiday resort within walking distance of the beach landing.

Ashore

Long sand beach of Erba Rossa runs north towards the mouth of the Travo river. Étang de Diana, a lagoon used for oyster and mussel farming since Roman times, is 8 km north by road. Archaeological site of Aléria and its museum of Corsican antiquities 14 km north.
