Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from Lake Erie along the Cleveland lakefront. The anchorage is open to the lake and protected only from the south-west through south-east, so it gives shelter in offshore winds but is exposed to any northerly weather.

Practical

Open anchorage with no facilities afloat. Edgewater Yacht Club lies 0.5 miles east and Edgewater Marina 0.6 miles east, both reachable by tender for fuel and berths.

Ashore

Edgewater Beach runs about 730 metres along the shore with swim and dog sections, a fishing pier, picnic grounds and trails through the 240-acre Edgewater Park, managed by Cleveland Metroparks. Downtown Cleveland is a short distance east.
