Approach and anchoring
The club sits where the Banana River meets the ICW, near the Eau Gallie Causeway. It works the calm lagoon waters of the Indian River system, with no inlet swell to contend with on approach.
Practical
Membership is by invitation only and the marina is reserved for members. Ashore there are six clay tennis courts, a heated pool and a fitness room. The club reports around 1,200 members.
History
Founded in 1907, the Eau Gallie Yacht Club is one of the older clubs on Florida's east coast. It moved to its present site in Indian Harbour Beach in 1960.
